Michael Cole Goes Boom at Symposium 2011!
The room buzzed with excitement as it waited for Michael Cole’s seminar to begin. This was his 13th Symposium in Las Vegas. The event brought many familiar faces as well as a host of new friends.
Hey Michael – Show Me The Money!
By the time Michael took the stage, the audience was shouting the famous line from the film “Jerry McGuire” – “SHOW ME THE MONEY!” – And that’s exactly what Michael did by showing everyone his brand new ideas for igniting explosions in stylists’ take-home pay —ideas that stylists could take action on the first day back.
To Make More Money – Make Fewer Friends!
Stop allowing your relationships with clients to hold you back from making more money. Michael made the radical proposal: Know and control the difference between “Being Client-Friendly” and “Befriending Your Clients.” When stylists become less professional and too friendly with their clients, the relationship changes from formal to casual and eventually, personal casualness leads to financial casualty. Stylists who make friends with their clients do drive by consultations and give too many friendly discounts and freebies. Befriending clients deprives clients of the extraordinary experience they expect and causes stylists to lose the money they deserve.
Friends Spend Less—Clients Spend More
Consider this graphic of a Level 3 Stylist. The continuum illustrates the difference between her lowest $15 ticket—many of which are friends—and her highest $254 ticket, all of which are clients. Note that 42 clients paid LESS than the average ticket, and 8 clients paid MORE.

Clients Buy Lots—Friends Buy Little
In the next picture, we see that the 42 “Red Clients” bought $50 of retail total… while the 8 “Blue Clients” bought six times more retail, at $40 per person!

Blue minus Red = New $$$ For You!
Ten Years ago it began with the Level System. Now there’s a new distinction to be mindful of: “Red Clients” and “Blue Clients.” Stay aware of which is which, for what you’re aware of you can control, and what you’re unaware of controls you. This discovery will revolutionize your clientele and your take-home pay! Use it intelligently and the financial dynamite goes boom, neglect it completely and your income is doomed.
If You’re Losing Your Marbles, Make Sure They’re Red!
Use Michael’s newest discovery to work smarter, not harder, by building more Blues and having less Reds. Most importantly, when you start serving clients and stop making friends, the dynamite goes boom!
